Our knives were originally designed by the legendary American knifemaker, Blackie Collins, and were sold and marketed by the Bowen Knife Company.  In 2021, Massey Knife purchased all rights and licenses to acquire the Bowen Knife Co. and is now manufacturing, marketing, and reintroducing this unique cutlery to new generations of hunters, anglers, campers, sportsmen (and women!), homeowners, and tradespeople.  This unique knife has a rich history with an interesting backstory.

Blackie was known for any number of different knives, knife materials and knife mechanisms, including the assisted opener, the first use of thermoplastic for knife handles (Gerber LST), the Bolt Action lock and much more. He also invented a number of sheath mechanisms for the diving knife industry.
